History

During my final months at my undergraduate school, I had the opportunity to enhance photographs of some of my friends. The original photos were typically grabbed from a video camera attached to a Sun workstation. Now, this was way before I had access to Photoshop. It worked like this: I would take the original image and open it up in some readily available paint application (typically "xpaint" on Unix, or an old copy of "Aldus Photostyler" on Windows 95). Thereafter, I would give the image some touches so that it came out "better" in interesting ways ...

These pictures are here in the same spirit as caricatures. If any of my "models" wish to have their picture(s) removed, please inform me and I shall gladly comply.

Ancient History

In my first year of undergraduate school, I experimented with art using the mouse. Since I only had rudimentary drawing applications (mainly 'xpaint' and 'xfig' on Unix), the effort was rather excruciating and the results were not very astounding.

Later on during my studies, I painted more frequently with the mouse, particularly because I used many of these "paintings" as logos and icons in software I wrote. I have managed to preserve/recover some of these, which are presented below. Quite expectedly, the quality and meaningfulness of these varies greatly, and many do not make sense - even to me.
